Our Hearing Test
A Hearing Test is the First Important Step to Freedom
There’s a common saying that the truth will set you free. We believe that the same principle applies in any medical prognosis. To go down to the root cause of a disease is the first important step to a cure. Managing hearing loss is not so different.
The Latest Advances in Hearing Care
In all our clinics, we put in place the latest audiometers from the industry leader in audiology, Interacoustics.
An audiometer is a device used to evaluate hearing loss during an audiometry test.
An audiometry test is performed while the patient sits in a soundproof booth and an audiologist who is located outside the booth communicates to the patient with a microphone.
All our hearing test equipment undergo regular check-up and calibration to ensure that every test performed is accurate. We use no less than the world’s number one calibrating equipment by Bruel and Kjaer to guarantee that we are consistently meeting the gold standards.
This Hearing Test Can Go to Wherever You are in the Philippines. We know how busy you are, so we give you or your company an option to avail of the latest audiometry tests through our fully furnished mobile audiometric van.
Available Hearing Tests
Hearing tests done at the Manila Hearing Aid clinics are easy, painless and non-invasive. Essentially, these audiometry tests are diagnostic in nature. Each test lasts for 10 to 30 minutes at most.
Standard puretone audiometry is the hearing test we conduct to determine the faintest sound that the patient can hear. From this test, we can derive the diagnostic information regarding the degree, type, and configuration of hearing loss.
is also known as the speech discrimination test. It is a measure of the patient’s ability to understand speech when it is presented at a level that is easily heard.
This helps determine the state of the patient’s eardrum and middle ear system. A probe tube, which releases varying pressure, will be inserted in his ear. This test which is non-invasive and risk-free, will only take less than five minutes of his time.
Newborn hearing test
There are specific methods and equipment used when we conduct the newborn hearing screening. The Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) test is a helpful tool in determining a child’s ability to hear. This uses a special computer to measure the way the child’s hearing nerve responds to different sounds.
If young children do not respond verbally to basic auditory test, they can be asked to point to pictures, objects, or body parts. For very young children, this measure might be limited to assessment of speech detection. Speech recognition is the ability of a child to repeat a list of phonetically balanced words correctly.
Hearing Aid Validation Test
It accurately determines the outcome of your hearing aid fitting. You will be instructed to wear your hearing aids and sit in front of the speakers. This checks if your hearing aids provide amplification benefit.
Industrial and Corporate Hearing Tests
Manila Hearing Aid is the only hearing care center in the Philippines that provides hearing tests
to address possible hearing loss that one may have as a result of one’s occupation. These hearing tests are usually for employees who are inevitably exposed to damaging loud noises.
Examples of these workplaces are the manufacturing factories which usually have large machines, blowers and generators.
School Hearing Screening
Hearing loss can interfere in a student’s academic performance. This test provides information on the clarity of hearing of students.
Pre-employment Hearing Screening
This is a test that several companies require to have a baseline hearing evaluation before an applicant is employed.
Hearing Conservation Test
This tests the hearing capability of the employees when exposed to loud industrial sounds. This is usually done on an annual basis to thoroughly monitor the hearing status of each employee and to check the negative effects of industrial noise.
